Abstract

Ventricular septal rupture (VSR) is a rare but
devastating complication after acute myocardial
infarction that generally produces progressive
circulatory failure and rapid deterioration. The
differential diagnosis of postinfarction
cardiogenic shock should exclude free ventricular
wall rupture and rupture of the papillary
