Important Note for Trainees/Residents - Updated

We wish to inform you that, in accordance with the revised publication standards of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC), each regular issue of the journal is restricted to a maximum of 30 published articles. Although PAFMJ has adopted a monthly publication schedule comprising twelve regular issues per year (six print and six online-only issues), the increasing number of high-quality submissions may still result in a waiting period between manuscript acceptance and publication.

If any of the authors require publication within a specific timeframe to meet academic, professional, training, promotion, or examination requirements, you may wish to consider withdrawing your manuscript and submitting it to another suitable journal to avoid any inconvenience.

Alternatively, if you wish to continue with the review and publication process at PAFMJ, kindly provide one of the following undertakings:

  1. For postgraduate trainees (FCPS, MPhil, PhD, or equivalent):
    An official undertaking signed by the supervisor, confirming that the acceptance letter issued by PAFMJ is sufficient to fulfill the relevant examination or training requirement and that immediate publication of the manuscript is not required.
  2. For authors who are not trainees:
    An undertaking signed by the corresponding author on behalf of all co-authors, confirming that:
  • All authors have been informed of the anticipated publication schedule.
  • All authors agree to continue with the submission despite the expected waiting period.
  • No request for expedited publication, change in publication sequence, or adjustment of the publication schedule will be made at any stage after acceptance.

Please note that submission of the above undertaking constitutes the authors' acknowledgement and acceptance that PAFMJ retains the sole and exclusive authority to determine the publication queue, issue allocation, publication format (print, online-only, or supplementary issue), and publication schedule of all accepted manuscripts. Editorial decisions regarding publication scheduling shall be based on the journal's editorial priorities, publication capacity, and operational requirements and shall be final.
