scienceAbstract
The uterine fibroids (leiomyoma) can progressively increase in size and attain enormous dimensions. However finding huge leiomyomas occupying the whole of the peritoneal cavity alongwith hydronephrosis and colonic adhesions is uncommon1. A mass was palpable extending from the epigastrium to the pelvis, the upper limit was not reachable however the lower limit was only palpable on pushing the mass in the upward direction. The mass was extending into the flanks and was mobile in both the axes. On vaginal examination the mass was found moving with the uterus. Examination of the chest, cardiovascular system and central nervous system revealed no abnormality. Her haemoglobin was 9.1 g/dl with an ESR of 30mm fall after the first hour. The total/ differential leucocyte counts, urea/ creatinine, electrolytes, blood sugar and urinalysis were normal
