Endophthalmitis following cataract surgery is one of the most feared complications in Ophthalmology1. According to UK National Cataract Surgery Survey its frequency is between 0.1 and 0.2%2. Although intraocular use of moxifloxacin, a fourth generation quinolone, has been studied for prophylaxis in cataract surgery7 to our knowledge and internet search there has been no reports of its use as a treatment for endophthalmitis. Similarly no reports can be found regarding the role of AC wash in a case of endophthalmitis. We therefore present a unique report of successful treatment of a case of acute post operative endophthalmitis by drainage of hypopyon followed by intracameral injection of moxifloxacin.
