The most common causative organisms are coagulase-negative Staphylococci (70%), Staphylococcus aureus (9.9%), Streptococcus species (9.0%) and Gram-negative organisms (6%)1. It rarely is caused by fungal and Enterococcal species (2-4%)1. Postoperative Enterococcal endophthalmitis is relatively rare but associated with poor prognosis2. If not properly treated, a risk of complete loss of vision exists even in best hands.
